How it works

If you're donating

  1. 1.Tell us about your item

Add a photo and a few details. We'll tell you the best way to get it to us — drop-off, collection or post.

  2. 2.We collect or you drop off

Small items can go by Royal Mail with a prepaid label. Bigger items are collected across the West Midlands.

  3. 3.We refurbish and pass it on

Our team checks, cleans and repairs each item, then matches it with someone who needs it. You can follow the journey.

What people say

Feedback from donors, people who received items, and the businesses we collect from across the West Midlands.

We moved into an unfurnished flat with almost nothing. StillUseful sorted a sofa, a table and a kettle within a fortnight, and nobody made us feel like a charity case.
Amara O. · Handsworth, Birmingham
Booked a collection for a house clearance on the Tuesday, gone by the Thursday. Got a note later telling me where the desk ended up. That bit meant a lot.
Dan R. · Coventry
We cleared 40 office chairs and 12 monitors. The ESG receipt with the weight diverted went straight into our annual report.

Common questions

What items can I donate to StillUseful?
Anything still usable: furniture, small appliances, tech, kitchenware, books, toys and clothing in good condition. We can't take items that are broken beyond repair, unsafe, soiled, or missing fire-safety labels on upholstered furniture.
Do I have to pay for an item I request?
Most items are free. A small number carry a low contribution to cover refurbishment parts. The price, or the fact that it's free, is always shown on the item before you request it.
Who is eligible to request items?
We use three tiers. Tier 1 items need only a short self-declaration of need. Tier 2 items need a simple proof upload, such as a benefits letter. Tier 3 items are reserved for people referred by a support worker or partner organisation.
How quickly will I hear back after an enquiry?
Every donation offer, item request and business enquiry gets a human reply within 2 working days — usually the next working day. Referral partners hear back within 1 working day.
